Bulbitech’s newest team member Richard J. Connors

Bulbitech is delighted to inform you that we are welcoming Richard John Connors to our team as part of the MSCA Doctoral Network EGRET-AAA (‘European Glaucoma REsearch Training program for Accelerating the Approach to Advanced Glaucoma’). This program has been designed with the express purpose of identifying innovative treatments for patients afflicted with advanced glaucoma. Our ultimate goal is to expedite the development and clinical introduction of groundbreaking therapies aimed at preserving and restoring vision in such patients.

Richard is an alumnus of UCL (University College London), where he completed his MRes in Brain Sciences during 2020–2021. UCL was ranked second in the UK’s Research Excellence Framework in 2021 and holds the ninth position in the 2023 QS World University Rankings, solidifying its status as one of the world’s leading educational institutions. Additionally, Richard holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Birmingham, earned between 2017 and 2020.

Richard shared his enthusiasm about joining the EGRET-AAA program, stating, “My motivation stems from a longstanding commitment to visual research, which has deepened throughout my scholarly pursuits. I am motivated by the aspiration to contribute to pivotal and groundbreaking research focused on resolving vision impairments. Specifically, Bulbitech attracted my attention due to the potential efficacy and efficiency of the BulbiCAM as a novel and creative means of glaucoma screening. I am excited to join this research endeavor and make a significant contribution to the field of glaucoma research.”

Richard’s background is rich with research experience, including a robust understanding of statistics and coding. He possesses exemplary skills in data gathering, analytical evaluation, and report compilation. Furthermore, his interdisciplinary expertise extends from psychophysics to neuroscience, complemented by a deep understanding of various neuroscience methodologies and the function and structure of diverse brain regions. Richard also brings extensive qualitative and quantitative research capabilities, encompassing research methods, data analytics, statistics, and imaging techniques.
